Family activities
We have not yet managed to re-start regular Family activities on a Sunday morning. In the meantime we have had several "one-off" events.
On Sunday 22 May 2022 we had a Craft Afternoon and made some “Jubilee themed materials”. The noticeboard had a Jubilee time line when we finished.
On Father’s day, Sunday 19 June, we had a Green Afternoon at St Matthew’s. Speakers, displays, Eco groups from Walter Evans and the University, with an opportunity to hunt the hedgehogs. Derby City Council and different colour bins, clothing upcycling, Refill on the run, etc. We had some children’s quiz sheets and activities available, and a good time was had by all.
On Sunday 24 July we had seven families at the Vicarage for an afternoon picnic.
We had All Age Worships for the two Harvest Festivals in October, but a dearth of children at St Matthew's. We planted cress seeds and made a prayer tree.
It was lovely to have our normal Christmas Eve pattern of worship again after two years when we had had to cancel our Crib Services because of Covid. Canon Nicky Fenton took the Crib Services at St Edmund's, Archdeacon Matthew Took the one at St Edmund's.
